Killer of 5 relatives with meat cleaver, including 4 children, gets 125 years
A man who pleaded guilty to the October 2013 murder of five relatives, including four children was sentenced to 125 years to life in prison on Tuesday October 20th. Mindong Chen, 27, butchered his cousin’s wife, Qiao Zhen Li, 37 and her four children aged 9, 7, 5 and 18 months with a meat cleaver during a frenzied attack at their home.
A state Supreme Court judge in Brooklyn handed down the term to Chen on Tuesday, October 20. He was sentenced to three terms of 25 years to life for murder and two terms of 25 years to life for manslaughter.
The 27-year-old pleaded guilty earlier this month to murder and manslaughter charges. His attorney declined comment.
"This defendant’s vicious and sadistic attack makes him completely unfit to remain in society, and he will now spend the rest of his life behind bars," Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson said.
"While we will never know what drove him to commit these murders, I hope that this sentence will offer this grieving family some measure of comfort."
Chen was found dripping in blood after slashing his victims’ throats. The massacre happened around 10:45 p.m. on 57th Street in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Police responded to the home after receiving a report that one person was stabbed inside. But when officers arrived, they found the victims unconscious with stab wounds to their upper bodies.
Chen had been fired from restaurant jobs and told investigators he envied the success of his relatives, who were fellow immigrants from China.

When to go for a/c maintance for your car.
Fuel burning inside your engine creates combustion chamber temperatures that can reach 1000°F or more. For an engine to perform properly, the operating temperature must be controlled within a tight range. The job of the cooling system is to regulate engine temperature for maximum fuel economy, power and component life as well as minimal emissions. Failure to maintain the cooling system often results in overheating and eventually, a breakdown. The lifeblood of the cooling system is the coolant, a mixture of antifreeze and water that circulates throughout the engine to regulate temperature. Proper maintenance can help you to avoid getting stuck on the side of the road with an overheated engine. Keeping an eye out for the following cooling system warning signs will help you avoid a costly breakdown.

It’s true – car maintenance can sometimes get in the way of life. However, making sure that your vehicle is properly maintained when it needs to be will help to ensure that you don’t spend precious time stuck on the side of the road when you could be spending it on things you cherish. Being aware of these 12 common car maintenance mistakes will help you in the long run.
Ignoring the Check Engine Light
It can be easy to ignore the Check Engine light. The light comes on and your car seems to be operating as it normally would and you might figure, “Well, everything seems fine, I’ll take care of it soon.” But other things come up, it gets put off, and one day your car could breakdown. As difficult as it might be to find the time to have your vehicle seen by a mechanic when that dashboard light first comes on, it really is best to have it seen as soon as possible because the longer you wait, the higher the costs could be for repairs. In other words, a little time spent having it fixed right away could save you a lot of money in the long run.
